Our Practice

Paul F. Yost Jr., Optometrist

Dr. Yost has been in private practice for 30+ years & is a Southern California College of Optometry Graduate. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, & the Tulare-Kings Optometric Association. He was raised in Porterville, California but moved to Hanford in the late 1970's to practice optometry & raise his family. Dr. Yost is an avid golfer & ais a volunteer golf official for the Northern California Golf Association.

Michael S. Mayer, Optometrist

Dr. Mayer graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1992 & has been in private practice in our office ever since. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, & is the Tulare-Kings County Optometric Association President. He is a local boy too, as he is a proud graduate of Hanford High School. Dr. Mayer moved to Hanford in 1979 with his parents & younger brother Rob. He, with his wife Rhonda, are now raising their two boys in the town that he grew up in. Dr. Mayer LOVES to go golfing with anyone who has a set of clubs.

Shoji Morita, Optometrist

In July of 2008 Drs. Yost & Mayer welcomed Dr. Shoji Morita to our office. Dr. Morita grew up in Hollywood, California. He went to the University of Southern California where he received his bachelor's degrees in Biological Sciences and East Asian Languages and Cultures. He went to Optometry school at Indiana University where he graduated in May of 2008. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and is the Director of Continuing Education for the Tulare-Kings County Optometric Society.  He is also an active member of the Hanford Breakfast Lion's Club.  Dr. Morita brings with him many new ideas to our office.

Helene Righetti

Helene has been serving our office faithfully for more than 30 years. She has actually been here longer than Dr. Yost.  She always has a smile on her face & knows just about everyone that walks through our doors. She grew up in Laton & is an invaluable asset to our practice.

Marlene Frey

Marlene has been working with us since 1992 & believe it or not she is a cousin to Helene. She has lived in the Hanford area for most of her life. Marlene works in our frame department & can get you just about any frame you may want. She is always helpful & courteous & will serve you with a smile.

Erica Mathuzima

Erica is our medical billing manager & has been with us for since 2004. She is an expert in insurance billing. If you have any questions about insurance billing, then this is the person to call at our office.

Joanne Leal

Joanne has been working with us since 2004. You will see her smiling face as you walk in our doors as she sits at the primary reception area. Joanne will take all of your information & get you ready for your eye examination.

Jennifer Smith

Jennifer has been working with us since 2006. She works in our frame & lab department. She is the best in the office at adjusting your glasses & helping them to fit better. She can also help you choose your new frame for your new glasses.

Mary Tsutsui

Mary has been in our office since 2005. She is the main person in the office who does the pretesting (the tests that are done before you see the doctor).

Rosie Paez

Rosie has been with our office since 2010.  She has been an extremely fast learner & is working in both our Hanford & Avenal offices.

Tiffany Jones

Tiffany has been working in our office since 2006.  In that brief time she has become an excellent biller of any & all vision insurances.  She is a hard worker & is going to school to become an Registered Nurse.

Kaelyn Cardoza

Kaelyn has been working for us since 2007.  If you come in for your appointment on a Saturday then you see her smiling face.  Kaelyn is also studying to become a Registered Nurse.
